Flower power

Whole Foods at the Bergen Mall in Paramus will hold a floral class 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23.

Floral specialist Cheryl will teach participants how to create a hand-tied bouquet from local flowers.

Class size is limited. Registeration is recommended. $10.

Bring a pair of pruning shears or floral cutters to class.

Expanding summer calendar

New classes and workshops have been added to the summer schedule of Sunset View Farm, Andover Township.

New programs include scavenger hunt on the eco-trail, into to canning, lasagna gardening, sensory sensations in nature, square foot gardening and team building.

All workshops are held at the 20-acre teaching farm.

All ages are welcome.

Branching out in the Bronx

Tree Explore Wave Hill's collection of trees with one of its guides as the garden celebrates "the year of the tree" 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7.

Topics include native trees, spring-flowering trees and notable trees of Wave Hill.

Tour concludes at the Glyndor Gallery with an introduction fo the "Arboes Venerabiles" exhibition.

The garden is at 675 W. 252nd St., Bronx.

Admission is $6; seniors and students $3.

Celebrating springtime

The Garden Club of Clifton will be holding it's monthly meeting 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 9th at the Seniors Center, Clifton Avenue and Colfax Road, Clifton.

If you are interested in signing up for class come September (in Passaic or Bergen County), this is a great opportunity to learn about the program.
