Martin Brodeur will be back in net for Monday afternoon's game against the Senators after sitting out Saturday's game in Florida. Head coach Brent Sutter went with backup Kevin Weekes for the 4-1 win over the Panthers because Brodeur went home to New Jersey on Friday for "personal reasons."
Brodeur practiced Sunday afternoon with the rest of the team at Scotiabank Place. It was another brisk-paced, hard-working session that lasted about 50 minutes and featured a one-on-one drill of battling to get the puck out of the corner and to front of the net.
Left wing Jay Pandolfo practiced and reported no lingering effects from the hard hit he took from Nathan Horton in the third period on Saturday. Rookie right wing Nicklas Bergfors practiced as the extra wing on the John Madden line and said his sore right shoulder was feeling better. He said he would be available to play Monday, but Sutter said he would make no lineup changes other than putting Brodeur back in net.
Note that the radio broadcast for Monday's game will be on WWDJ AM-970 because WFAN does not want to bump Mike and the Mad Dog for a Devils' game.
Today's forward lines and defense pairings:
Forwards: Elias-Zubrus-Clarkson; Parise-Zajac-Gionta; Pandolfo-Madden-Asham/Bergfors; Rupp-Pelley-Brylin.
Defense: Greene-Rachunek; Oduya-Martin; Vishnevski-Mottau; Matvichuk-Brookbank.
WFAN is a disgrace, Fat Mike and looney toon Maddog show is for losers too.

Marty Brodeur being back in goal is good news. I was afraid that Coach Sutter was going to stir things up by creating a goaltender controversy.
