Right wing Jamie Langenbrunner was unaware that head coach Brent Sutter said he would wait until Langenbrunner returned from sports hernia surgery before naming a captain -- if he names one at all.
"I'm honored that he would think of me in that way," Langenbrunner said. "I always considered myself a leader on this team. I'm not by any means the best player on this team or the most outspoken, but I've been fortunate to play with, in my opinion, some of the best captains this game as seen, like Scotty (Stevens), Joe Nieuwendyk, Guy Carbonneau, guys that really admired the way they do thing and I tried to take a little bit from each one of them."
Langenbrunner said Sutter has not mentioned the captaincy to him.
"He doesn't know me from anyone," he said. "I haven't been around."
Although Langenbrunner still would not give a goal date for his return, it would not be surprising if he returns by the end of next week.
I love Langenbrunner and everything he brings to the team. I think it would be cool if he is captain, but Sutter knows best.

I was a little surprised to see Gionta and Zubrus with an "A" and not Madden and or Pandolfo. Jamie would be a good choice though...i think Madden would be best.

Madden or elias would be my choice, but I would not complain if it was langer, between the three of them I think you have you "C" and 2 "A"'s
