Parise well enough to play

After still feeling weak Thursday following a bout with the flu that kept him out of Sunday's win in Calgary, left wing Zach Parise took part in today's morning skate to see if he felt any better.

"I felt terrible yesterday and I feel terrible again today," he said afterward.

Still, Parise said he felt well enough to play tonight against the Sabres. Mike Rupp will be a healthy scratch to make room for him in the lineup. The Devils will dress seven defensemen again.

Defenseman Karel Rachunek will miss his second game in a row with what he said is a sore right ankle, though it appeared he injured his right knee in Friday's win in Edmonton. He said will probably try to skate on Monday.

Right wing Cam Janssen (right shoulder) said he hopes to practice with the team for the first time next week.

Martin Brodeur will start in net for the Devils. Ryan Miller will get the call for the Sabres.

Hi Tom, what are the chances for the devils to call up one of the AHLers with this already too full roster? Any chance we'll see Bergfors again or guys like Clarke, Vrana etc?

I really don't think they'll call any of those guys up unless there's an injury.

The Devils are at the roster limit anyway. Does that mean they have to put someone on the IR or have send someone down to call someone up?

good to see Zach is feeling better. I don't expect him to be as amazing as usual figuring he's probably still not 100%

I don't think we see any AHLers at this point. Clarke is a career minor leaguer, Bergfors still needs to get his game going but he keeps getting hurt and missing time, Vrana is the only guy who I think could get called up but I don't think they are in a rush to bring him up.

I know it's not the stanley cup finals but I expect a little Kirk Gibson action from Zach tonight!
