Tallackson called up
The Devils have called up Barry Tallackson and he is in Pittsburgh, but I don't know if he'll be in the lineup tonight against the Penguins. I'm guessing that if they went through the trouble to get him here, that he'll play. I have no idea who will come out.
I just got into Pittsburgh myself. My 9:40 a.m. flight was delayed a few times because of mechanical problem and finally was posted as a 1 p.m. departure. That's when I switched to an 11:50 flight that Rich Chere was on. When we got in, our taxi ride into the city was fine until we got a few blocks from our hotel. The roads were all blocked off because they imploded the old hospital across the street from Mellon Arena today. That will be the site of the Penguins' new arena. We must have just missed it because people were still taking pictures of the rubble before heading home and eventually the barricades were moved and we were able to get to the hotel.
Hopefully Tallackson can help us score because the Devils offense has imploded over the past few weeks.
We need all the offensive help we can get against the Penguins. Crobsy is out of the lineup but I don't know if that is good or bad for Devils, since that means Malkin will get double the ice time with Hossa.

Tallackson is a zero.

Tallackson tends to be the invisible man when he gets called up. We need something new - not more unrealized potential. Too many divisional games left to let more of them slip away.

at least the team is trying something, maybe this will wake travis up if he gets sat for a game or 2, barry is a big boy who can create some space for smaller guys, 21 goals for him this year 8 on pp

don't get your hopes up. If we really wanted an offensive spark, we would have called up vrana. I mean, if the guy is a "sure thing" for next season's squad, why wouldn't we call him up for a game or 2 to get him some NHL experience where he would be forced to play well, being that this is a tight race down the stretch? Lou hasn't impressed me in 5 years, that is for sure.

Tallackson might play for Rupp who was injured last night. Anyway, Barry is a fouth line guy and brings more tp the game than Asham.

vrana? good one, he'd bring nothing, which is slightly worse than Tallackson. There's a reason why Lowell blows so badly, just look at the roster.

of all the guys to call up, why not Bergfors? He never got a second chance unlike Tallackson who is on his "nth" chance.

If Barry was actually given a chance to play we can make judgement.
It's hard to make any impression when you play only 5 minutes of ice time with stiffs like Asham and Rupp.

too bad bergfors got hurt at the beginning of the season, he coulda still been up with the devils and maybe he coulda had a good year and added some scoring help and they wouldnt have been in this position where they cant score worth anything. i mean some guys are just better at the nhl level then the ahl level.

What a joke. The organization says Vrana isn't ready to make an impact on this level but we bring up Tallackson. How do you figure a guy like Tallackson who doesn't have nearly as many points as Vrana at lowell can help more than Vrana? I guess it just makes sense with everything else Lou has done lately. While ex devils with offensive skills like Rolston, Guerin and Sykora were on the open market this past offseason, we were signing Mike Rupp, Aaron Asham, Grant Marshall, Mike Mottau, Danius Zubrus, Karul Rakunek and Sheldon Brookbank. Great job lou, this team has scored an average of 1 goal a game down the stretch and I'm just glad you didn't address our scoring needs at the deadline. Your time has come the game has passed you by

Noah Clark scores a goal in 6 minutes of ice time in one game, and Tallackson has played 25 in the past 3 years and has done nothing but get paid.
