Center John Madden is unsure if he will be able to play in Sunday afternoon's game against the Philadelphia Flyers because he is still bothered by what he called, "flu-like symptoms."
"I'll wait until I wake up tomorrow and see how I feel," he said.
Madden practiced briefly today, but left after only about 10 minutes.
"I just wasn't feeling good," he said. "I just thought I could go out and try to get a sweat. Sometimes that helps. Obviously, it didn't."
Madden also wanted to test out his back today after it stiffened up on him Wednesday in Buffalo.
"That was another reason why I came," he said. "I wanted to see if that was going to be an issue. I didn't really get to go hard to find out."
Madden said he first started to feel sick Friday morning.
Devils coach Brent Sutter admitted that Madden would have been a game-time decision Friday night because of his back, but his illness made the question moot.
"It was going to be a game-time decision on him, but then he came up sick and I told him don't worry about the game," Sutter said.

Defenseman Bryce Salvador did not practice again today because of his upper body injury and Sutter doesn't expect him to play Sunday.
"Bryce is probably a definite not," he said.
Sutter would not characterize Salvador's injury as taking longer to heal than he orginally expected, but also doesn't think he'll be out for an extended period.
"No. I think it was kind of like an unknown," Sutter said. "I don't expect it to be something prolonged, but it's something that he's just not quite ready to play."

It looks like Scott Clemmensen will start his fourth consecutive game in net on Sunday. Sutter would not confirm who his starter will be but said, "You guys probably know who it is."
TG, any word on whether LeBlond will return for tomorrow? Or are they really gonna dress Brookbank again?

Little eye opener.................
ROLSTON HAS 35 career SHORTHANDED GOALS, HE HAD 10 IN ONE YEAR. WHY IS HE NEVER ON PENALTY KILL

Redante1,
Rolston's speed still isn't where it should be in my opinion. You might have been able to see that when he was on the point of the powerplay he took about 4 penalties because he couldn't catch up to the forward. Maybe Sutter is waiting for Rolston's full speed to come back.

I hope Bryce is ok. I dont like how we know nothing about it.. I hope he didnt do anything bad.. how do we know madden has a back injury but nothing on Salv?

My money is on post concussion syndrome for Salvador. Hit in the face with a puck, thinks he's ok then plays a couple games back to back maybe when he needs to sit out a day or two...

Brent Sutter talked again today about wanting to get Rolston on the PK, but has been waiting for him to get his game back where it needs to be at 5-on-5 first.
So, I would say Rolston will probably be on the PK soon.
