Although Martin Brodeur wrote in his column this week that he is aiming to make his return on Feb. 26 against the Colorado Avalanche, he was evasive when asked about that date following today's practice.
"I know that's the big 26th date," he said. "We'll see how I feel. I feel really, really good. Like I said, I feel I would be able to jump in and play (Thursday). I think this is not the right timing for me to do it. With the team, we'll make the decision when I feel 100 percent and they feel 100 percent comfortable with me in net. That's the bottom line. The guys here are playing really well, so it's going to be a matter of when I feel good and after that I'll let them know that I feel good and it will be their call."
Brodeur reiterated that the Feb. 26 date is a natural because it will be exactly 16 weeks after his Nov. 6 surgery to reattach his torn left biceps tendon.
"It all goes back to the 16-week thing," he said. "The first night when they told me about my arm, they said it was going to take four months. To me, that date was always in my mind. So when I talk about it, it's not necessarily a date. It's an area that I'm looking for more than a day in particular just because it's a Thursday and it's the 16-week mark to me."
Brodeur was much more definitive in his column this week on RueFrontenac.com.
Under the headline, “I aim to return February 26,” Brodeur wrote (translated from French), “If all is well, I anticipate a return to the game [on] February 26 against the Avalanche of Colorado.”
The Devils have not wanted to acknowledge the Feb. 26 as a precaution in case Brodeur returned later than that. Then, it might be portrayed as Brodeur having a setback.
So far, Brodeur has had no setbacks.
Interesting article from The Hockey News that involves the Devils

More than anything I think it's a really good sign that Marty says he could go immediately if the team really needed his help.

Did anyone else catch the news that the Albany River Rats bus had an accident leaving
Lowell and apparently three people were seriously injured, although no mention of if
it was players or coaching staff or whom... I hope they're ok!

Just make sure that if you're doing copy/paste, that you didn't copy a space or something. That's what usually happens to me when I can't get codes to work.
