If you were planning on tying to get the $10 tickets tonight, there's a line down Edison St. arleady that goes almost the length of that side of the building.
Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello told me Monday night that he expects the game to be a sellout and I'm sure they will announce it as a sellout no matter what, but I just checked on the Devils' Web site (4:20 p.m.) and there were still tickets available.
Devils fans should be ASHAMED of themselves if this game doesn't sell out.
I would be going if I wasn't stuck at work.

I know this is not the place to post the question but it is the newest post, but I was always uncertain about one thing. In a shootout, the goals are not counted against the goaltenders record or the players score card for regular goals for. If a game goes to a Zero Zero shootout, which goalie gets the shutout since the goal doesn't count against the goalie's goals against? Or does it count and I'm just messing up the information.

Both goalies get the shutout if I'm correct.

if the game goes into a shootout tied at 0 both goalies are credited with a shutout...i think it happened in the rangers maple leafs game early this season

Interesting, I have had that on my mind forever but always forget to post it. Thanks!

Jeff, please excuse me because I'm pointing you out here and you're not the only one.. but please refrain from saying
"Devils fans should be ASHAMED of themselves if this game doesn't sell out"
followed by "I'm not going". No, they shouldn't be ashamed... because it's a tuesday night, and because, Jeff, you're not the only one who has work. That's not to say *I* won't be at the game, because I wouldn't miss it for the world, but in today's economic state, please refrain from saying stupid things like that; then completely trasing your point by saying you're not going anyway.

TG, the tickets that are available are obscenely priced!!!!! Who is going to spend $255 to sit in the restaurant? What individual is going to pay $250 out of their own pocket to sit in the clubs. There are just not that many people with that kind of cash lying around.
The Devils have plenty of fans but not the crazy corporate support to justify those outrageous lower bowl and mezzanine ticket prices. The Devils have to realize that Newark is not NYC.
If the Rock were more reasonably priced you would see plenty of weekend sellouts and much better weekday crowds.

I have my season tickets in 210. I'll be in my Brodeur jersey instead of my Madden one.

I'd love to go but I hesitated on purchasing this game 2 weeks ago at a resonable price but $250 is a little rich for me. Kids and a mortgage puts things in perspective. I will enjoy Doc and Chico and Steve and Dano... not the Maven so much.

I kept checking ticketmaster all day and lucked out with a pair of $38 tix.
Woooooot!

Amen to that, I agree prices at the Rock are insanely high and many more people would go to the games if the tickets were somewhat more reasonable. Wouldn't they want to get people in the seats? people that will buy food and drinks and souvenirs and perhaps enjoy themselves and go back?? IDK why they would rather keep the ticket prices high and the seats empty. It's really sad to see all the empty seats during most of the season. Having said all that, I don't think people are looking for tickets really hard, I just found a ton of tickets for under $100 on a few different websites, they won't be $10, but they are out there.

I agree with the above posters. It should be noted that the ONLY tickets left are of the $250 variety. It looks like all others are gone. I already have my tickets, but if I didn't there's no way I could afford those club seats. The place will be full of Devils faithful.

I'd be there if I didn't live 3000 miles away.
Posted by: rinkrat | March 17, 2009 at 04:07 PM
Sorry, but there should be 19,000 fans out there that ARE NOT working that can go to the game.
This happens to be my busy season, which is the ONLY reason I am not going.
If Devils fans can't pull together and sell out a game, even if it is on a Tuesday night, for a possibe once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see history made, we deserve all the crticism we get from other teams' fans.
Posted by: Jeff | March 17, 2009 at 04:07 PM
A little late but I agree with T-man's post from this morning. The whole hockey world is going to be watching this game and do we really want to be yelling "rangers suck" thirty times?? I also think the "you suck" thing after the goals needs to go. I would love to see the fans focus on more "lets go devils" and "marty" cheers.

I just checked and the only seats left are the club seats at $250 a pop, plus ticketmaster charge, plus convenience charge. Thankfully I got mine 2 weeks ago with the Guys Night Out promotion and happened to get lucky that I have a chance to see #552.
Today is taking forever, can't wait to get to the game, grab a guinness, and witness history. I'm sure the boys will bring it tonight!
