I just got off the phone with Brendan Shanahan's agent, Rick Curran. Curran said "nothing has changed" with Shanahan.
"It's been quiet this week," Curran said. "Everybody is just waiting after the initial frenzy last week, which is not surprising,"
Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said last week that he was still interested in re-signing Shanahan. The 40-year-old left wing also is interested in returning to New Jersey.
I know that's not anything earth-shattering, but I figured we needed a new post.
Nothing new like with everyone else, but, yes we did need a new post!

thanks, I did need a new post.
I've been hitting refresh over and over.
I love this team, and the interwebz are making my passion into a bit of an obsession.
what color shoes is Zajac wearing today?
does shanny roll his TP overhand or underhand.
:D during these summer months, I'll take anything I can get.

Hey, TG can you keep us updated on the coaching search even if it is status quo? I mean developmental camp opens next week, so Lou should at least be close to hiring a coach.
Posted by: Steven | July 09, 2009 at 02:40 PM
TG do you think not finding a coach has maybe effected lous mind set during free agency?

Yay, back to page 1. TG, any way you could set this up where you can click on a page # at the bottom to go to the most recent comments when it gets past 2 or 3 pages?

Thanks TG...hopefully Lou can work something out with Shanny. It would be great to have him back for another season.

whats up with your colleague posting up a storm? no one cares about the rangers do they?
Posted by: Sergei | July 09, 2009 at 02:56 PM
TG - Sorry if this was asked and answered already but do the Devils plan to make the development camp open to the public, even for just a day? I would assume they're not but it'd be cool if they did.

I agree, shanny was worth the $ for sure. It'd be nice if he can sign on to continue mentoring some of the younger players like Clarkson.

TG.. any truth to the rumors that Lou is yelling at the people in Verizon cause his cell phone bill was over the cap?

Posted by: Rob | July 09, 2009 at 03:01 PM
I have no information on the development being open to the public. I'm assuming it won't.

New pearl jam sucks.
Posted by: JOHN C. | July 09, 2009 at 03:05 PM
so overall we lost three veterans this offseason, the better of the backup goalies, and a coach, and signed no one? this looks so promising...

i was only kidding, and i don't think she would want the job anyway because its on a week night and she would be there until at least 1:30am. But if there is a Devils game on my son is usually pretty quiet as long as there is hockey to watch....
I have to add too i am loving life today, the blog is an ALF free zone, and honestly i couldn't be happier. Oh and i stand by my bet that the Devils will make the playoffs!

rangers signed Kotalik.. I wonder for how much.
boyton signed a 1 year deal with the ducks.. for only 1.5 million. It seems like a lot of guys are going to the Ducks on the Cheap. I dont get it.. plus for only 1 year.

Of Course they will. We have 2 pretty good lines and our D are not the worst one in the league plus we have Marty. The are so many teams that have only one productive line. Maybe we are not going to be in the top 3 heading to the post season but we will be there.

I'm standing with you, PJ. I also think that the Devils will make the playoffs, even with the current inaction.
