Former Lowell Devils head coach Kurt Kleinendorst was named today as a head coach with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich.
Kleinendorst replaces John Hynes, who resigned earlier this month to become an assistant coach for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
Kleinedorst, who also worked for the New Jersey Devils as an assistant coach and scout and has been with the organization for nine years, coached the Lowell Devils for the last three seasons. He was replaced by John MacLean last month.

I hope Johnny Mac can do a better job with Lowell...

August has to be the most boring month in the sport of hockey

I'm just happy to see a new thread...sorry Kurt, good luck to ya ey'....Johhny Mac will better anyway.
Posted by: njteech | August 11, 2009 at 02:02 PM
Yah, give it a week, this thread will be at 250 plus. LOL!
Posted by: Zorin | August 11, 2009 at 02:28 PM
And only the first 20 will be about Kurt Kleinendorst.
Posted by: Burger Time | August 11, 2009 at 03:13 PM
Wow you give it that long before it goes into line combinations, crazy trade talk and even crazier free agent signing talk. I say 12 posts at most
Posted by: JPL | August 11, 2009 at 03:26 PM
Yah, maybe not 250. Now TG will drop something just to prove me wrong.
Maybe TG can get someone at Zajac's wedding to text or call him with the menu items and pic of him feeding his new wife some wedding cake.

Guess Kurt is the subject of a "small" joke by Devil's fans.
Posted by: MoonDragn | August 11, 2009 at 03:36 PM
Finally a new thread. Nice job Kurt. Even though I had no idea who the Lowell coach was. I know that's really bad, but c'mon, its the minors.

I for one will miss the Brendan Shanahan threads. Only die hard hockey fans could contribute over 1000 posts to a 40 year old 3/4th line winger. I can only imagine if we sign Sundin. We will break the internet.
Posted by: Tom | August 11, 2009 at 04:05 PM
God forbid we sign Sundin... sorry to say it but i am not interested in the guy. But hey heres a thought we could trade Zubrus, Colin White, the rights to Uli Heimler, Danton Cole's shin guards to San Jose for Patrick Marleau, then flip Mottau, Corrente, Brent Sutters honor, the rights to Karel Rachunek, Zubrus again for Iginla. Then after that Lou will single handedly build a new Tappan Zee bridge using nothing but the left over sticks from the equipment sale and left over hot dogs from the last dollar dog night. and you know that it will last for another 100 years.
there i did it! i got 2 Zubrus proposals in one thread TOP THAT SUCKERS!!!!!

This is very good for the Devils. The relationship Lou has with Kurt can only benefit our american draft selections from NTDP, with that kind of first hand knowledge giving Lou inside info.

I'd rather this news than get minute-to-minute updates on how many fish Parise caught, or how many rides Langenbrunners kids rode in a giant mall in minnesota...
So, we have a potential future coach to look at now

Ricky- word on the street is langs an parise like walleye

hahaha... Yeah, I noticed that... Twitter has to be the famous persons revenge on gossip columnists... Not even they would resort to some of the tweets we get. Juan Pablo Montoya was at Graceland for the first time, and Danica Patric had to replace a light bulb in her house today... I LOVE THIS STUFF!!

heres some new stuff ricky
RIGHT NOW: Devils LW Zach Parise in Minn. driving to a mini rink for a 3-on-3 skate w/ locals J. Blake, K. Okposo, D. Stafford, J. Toews.

I think we can push a trade for a #2 center if Lou trades zubrus, white, a dozen walleye fish, free rides at mall of america for a year. We'll also need inthat trade a large box of mustard and sourkrout for the next dollar dog day. They always seem to runout of that stuff. Next time Im gunna try to smuggle in my own mustard
Posted by: RickyM2 | August 11, 2009 at 04:47 PM
Best of luck to Kurt Kleinendorst.
If John MacLean does well at Lowell, he could well have the inside track on succeeding Jacques Lemaire when Lemaire packs it in.
Devils need a second line center. Manny Malhotra is out there and he definitely can help the Devils. Let's sign him!!

Walleye is the big thing up in Minnesota.
I remember when I was up there for the World Cup before the lockout, I was asking the waitresses what food Minnesota was known for. I mean, there's Wisconsin cheese, Iowa corn, Idaho potatoes, Jersey tomatoes, what about Minnesota?
After a lot of thinking, they could only come up with walleye.
