Do you guys get the feeling that all of these guys in the 2nd session are not going to be making the cut?

i feel like most of them won't make the first cut. Which i'm fine with. It'll be better for the team to get the 1st round of cuts out of the way.

That's the feeling I'm getting too, though I also get the feeling Lemaire will say "not to read too much into it."

Only Corrente, Eckford, and Halischuk probably had any serious thoughts of making the team through a good training camp in this group.

Well Lemaire did say he was going to put some guys from this 2nd group into the 1st group. So I guess he's not done experimenting yet. However you can't help but wonder if the first group has the best shot at it.

Do any of you support or keep track of your farm teams?

I am an Albany resident and a long-time River Rats fan, dating back to the team's inception in 1993 or 94.
Now that the team is affiliated with Carolina, I still go to about half the home games, but am much more a fan of the Devils, where so many former Rats still play.

I still feel that forwards Walter, Halischuk, Swift and Vasyunov plus defenseman Eckford and Corrente should get looks in preseason. I hope Lemaire puts a few guys from the second group in with the first tomorrow............It's kind of interesting that big defenseman like Urbom and Fraser (who can probably take White's spot now) are getting looks before the others. Maybe some of the older guys better watch out (Salvador, White, Leach, Mottau) because it looks like Lemaire might not be afraid of making changes to the line-ups this year and might force Lou to get rid of some guys (trade or like they did with McGillis and send them to the minors).
