The Devils signed defensemen Eric Gelinas and Dan Kelly to entry-level contracts Wednesday.
Gelinas, 19, was the Devils’ second-round pick, 54th overall, in 2009. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound native of Vanier, Ontario signed a three-year contract worth a total of $2.07 million (a cap hit of $690,000 per season).

Kelly, a 21-year-old native of Morrisonville, N.Y., was an undrafted free agent that played the last five seasons for Kitchener in the Ontario Hockey League. He served as the Rangers’ captain in 2009-10. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound defenseman had six goals, 21 assists and 99 penalty minutes in 58 regular season games in 2009-10. He chipped in four goals and nine assists in 20 playoff games to help Kitchener reach the Western Conference finals.
Over his five seasons with Kitchener, he put up 11 goals, 71 assists and 277 penalty minutes in 235 games.
Kelly will attend his first NHL training camp in September.
