Hennessy Tavernin Northvale has a new chef, Joe Macri, and he's already making his presence known.
The former executive chef at Candela in Manhattan's Union Square, has added new sandwiches, salads and entree specials to the menu while retaining some of the more popular pub staples, such as shepherd's pie and chicken pot pie.

Blue Moon Mexican Cafe was honored with the New Jersey Restaurant Association's annual Restaurant Neighbor Award at the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show in Manhattan.
Blue Moon's restaurants in Wyckoff, Old Tappan, Woodcliff Lake and Englewood have raised more than $180,000 for non-profit organizations, the association said in a statement.

The Milford Steak House, which opened last January on Route 23 in West Milford, has closed, and the phone is disconnected.
A gentleman on-site said that it will be reopening as more of a nightclub on Dec. 4, although there is no indication that the liquor license has been transfered.

The New York Times reviewed the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn in Sunday's paper, giving us an idea of what you can expect from the landmark restaurant that's apparently on its third owner in about 18 months (from Marcello Russodivito -- whose food is not boring, he wants you to know -- to Chris Kelly to George Zahakos and Catherine Stauch, previously of the Bicycle Club in Englewood Cliffs).
