Hot Pot, a casual Korean and Japanese restaurant, has opened in Hackensack, in a little River Street spot near the Heritage Diner that has been vacant for about a year and a half. It serves sushi rolls, bibimbap, jap chae, soups, and rice bowls with kalbi, bulgogi, eel, teriyaki chicken, etc.
Glad to finally see something in that space, which is near the former Record headquarters - we've seen a few short-lived hot dog and pizza places, plus long periods of vacancy. 60 River St., 201-488-0595.
the owner treats employees like crap. he does not know how to operate a business

They seem to be closed--and I'm not surprised. We went for a lunch one Saturday and were served left-overs that were barely warm. And it wasn't very good, either.
