The naughty list welcomes ...

Franks... Frank's Waterside. Give them a big round of applause.

Frank's joins Teggiano, Nanni and other North Jersey restaurants that have misrepresented reviews and ratings in their advertising or other promotional material. In Frank's case, the restaurant rounded a 2 1/2-star review up to three stars in the copy that's on display in the lobby.

Temporarily closed (we think)

Two temporary closures to pass along, of varying amusement:

  • Luka's Italian Cuisine: The restaurant's dining room is being completely renovated. A sign in the door indicates it will reopen July 1, but the space is bare, which means contractors likely will be working overtime to get the job done.
  • Rainbow Buffet, Fairview: One door bears a handwritten sign saying it will reopen July 3. The other has the big red UNSATISFACTORY placard from the town health office.
