"Beer is about to be the new wine." So went the pitch last night from a highly impartial guy named Jim Koch, the founder and head brewer at Samuel Adams.
Koch and top New York chef David Burke believe that beer is underrated among foodies. That it can bring out flavors in complex foods just as much as wine can. Or, better than wine can.
No, goose isn't on the menu at Chakra. He's too busy guarding the eggs in the parking lot.
The same pair that hatched its goslings in a corner of the Paramus restaurant's parking lot last year returned this month.
“Having satisfied customers return to Chakra is nothing new, but I will admit, this is our first returning goose couple,” Chakra manager Jeff Leanhart said in a statement.
Until the eggs hatch, Chakra will be making a donation to the National Audubon Foundation for every Grey Goose martini it serves.
