Interesting edible of the day

Blueberry lemon pickles, from the Paul's Gourmet Foods stand at the Hackensack Farmers Market. Pretty tasty if you can get over the strange blueish vinegar they're floating in - the fruit flavors are very subtle.

Fun with Craigslist

I don't know what shushi [sic] is, but you can find it in Wset [sic] Paterson, according to this ad. And if you want to work there, they're "willing to train fast learning," whatever that means.

Holy cow!

A dish in a Nigerian restaurant had one diner saying "My God, this beef is good," according to this story from the BBC.

The Muslim diner in Birnin Kebbi was preparing to eat a piece of beef which had been boiled and fried, when he noticed the word "Allah" - the Arabic word for God - spelled out in its gristle. I don't see it. how about you?

Seen on the sidewalk

Seen on the chalkboard in the window of Lolo's Sweets & Sundries in Ramsey today: "Free AC with any purchase."

Too bad it was closed when I walked past.

Beef and push-ups

Burgerpress We got the "perfect burger press" in the mail today. The plastic doodad from Progressive claims to help one make uniformed burgers - with or without a dimple (?) - that "cook evenly every time."

That's all well and good, but when I look at it, I don't want a burger - I just wanna do a push up.

Random thoughts

Random thoughts while walking through Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus on my lunch break:
