Speaking Engagement: Fair Lawn Jewish Center
I was honored this morning to speak to a men's group at the Fair Lawn Jewish Center. It was a terrific gathering, with many, many insightful questions that followed my remarks. WOR's Steve Malzberg is a member of this group and attended.
I try to speak to community groups as often as I can. I view these appearances as a chance for me to talk about my work but also to listen to feedback. So, whenever I speak, I always try to leave time for questions.
For today's speech, the Fair Lawn group asked me to reflect on stories that have had an impact on my career. I could talk about many meaningful assignments, from the Baby M case to the 9/11 attacks. But I chose three -- a racially charged incident in Teaneck, a meeting with a poor family in Africa, and a conversation with a Muslim man in Malaysia who firmly believed the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated by America as an excuse to invade Muslim lands. For those who might like to hear my remarks, I'm attaching a recording of my talk to this email: Download SpeechFairLawnJewishCenterMensGroup110407.WMA
