Fellow Dems trash Andrews, laud Lautenberg

0515lautdeleg_2

This should have been posted last night, but my Internet connection kept crashing and coming back up, and without high-speed access, there was no way I was going to get all these files uploaded.

On Thursday, the members of the House delegation who are supporting Sen. Frank Lautenberg in the primary held a joint news conference where they trashed Rep. Rob Andrews and praised Lautenberg. From left to right above are Lautenberg, Rep. Steve Rothman, Rep. Albio Sires, Sen. Bob Menendez, Rep. Donald Payne [obscured by Menendez], Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr, Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer, Rep. Rush Holt and Rep. Frank Pallone.

Click below to hear what they said. [For some real fun, click all the 'play' buttons at once]

Rep. Frank Pallone of Long Branch:

Sen. Bob Menendez:

Rep. Donald Payne of Newark:

Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. of Paterson:

Rep. Steve Rothman of Fair Lawn:

Rep. Rush Holt of Hopewell Township:

Rep. Albio Sires of West New York:

Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer:

Sen. Frank Lautenberg

After the speeches, there were a few questions from the press. The first one was about how Lautenberg plans to get the vote out in the June 3 primary. Here's his response:

Lautenberg was also asked about Andrews' challenge to hold more debates:

Finally, he was asked if he'd support Andrews if he ever ran for anything else:
