Cross Town Thriller: Paramus Spartans Wrestling Victorious in an Exciting Match Over Cross-Town Rival Bergen

The Paramus Spartans Varsity wrestling team, ranked number one in Bergen County this season, was matched up against their cross-town rivals, the Bergen Catholic High School Crusaders on Monday night in a home match for the Spartans.  The top ranked Spartans, who brought an 11-6 record into the match, were in a close battle all night long.  This did not come as a surprise, even for the top team in the county, against a tough rival team in Bergen Catholic.  Late in the match, the Spartans trailed their cross-town rivals.  In need of a score for the lead, they turned to senior Zach Zotollo, who came through with in a big way, as he pinned his opponent, sealing the 27-22 victory. 


The victory came just days after the Spartans defeated Hackensack High School.  Both victories came in defense of the home gym for Paramus.  The top ranked Paramus Spartans, now carrying a record of 12-6, will look to continue their success throughout the rest of the season and into tournament play.
