Nobody doesn't like David Lee
Memphis has great food, music, decent golf courses to play with an old friend and Elvis, of course. But otherwise, the place is a dump. So, who can blame David Lee for (according to ESPN.com) telling the Grizzlies they shouldn't trade for him because he won't re-up with them after next season.
That said, realize this, friends. If the Knicks are going to make any kind of significant move after the draft to unload Zach Randolph or any of their other albatross contracts, they're probably going to do it by using Lee.
As in, "You want David Lee? Then you take Z-Bo. Or Jared Jeffries. Maybe even Eddy Curry or Jamal Crawford, both of whom, like Z-Bo and Jeffries, have contracts (or options) that spill into the 2010 Summer of LeBron. Jerome James (two years left), maybe, but Malik Rose as a throw-in with his one year left would only work for something substantial _ such as the No. 5 pick the Griz reportedly offered.
Or it could work the other way, of course: "You want me to take one of those contract slugs off your hands? Then you'd better include D-Lee."
Meanwhile, with the Lee-to-Memphis scenario set aside, it seems less likely, as this is written, that The Don does anything except Pick Six in the draft. As he's said, though, such matters are and will be "fluid" until even after the Knicks pick.
But unless he's willing to risk the wrath of the fans and surrender Lee _ whose agent, Mark Bartelstein, called "a very popular guy" earlier this week. "A lot of teams seem to want him" _ he may not be able to do much.
So if you want some of the old guard gone, Lee probably will have to go, too.
It's not that I don't like D Lee, It's that we need a shot blocker, a defensive presence. And Jefferies and Balkman are pretty much the same player and no one wants Zach or Eddy.
It's mess up D Lee block that trade.

Loki and I appear to be the only two Knick fans on any posting board supporting the K's crucial, yes, crucial need for a shotblocker.Any deal the K's make must be a move in that direction. We do disagree apparently on the value of Lee.Rebounding is the #2 characteristic of winning teams and there is no one in this draft, including Beasley, who will outboard Lee. Additionally, his offense will, in fact, be aided by MD's "uptempo" offense and his character appears to be beyond reproach. If $$$ is the root cause, Marbury comes off the cap, either Zach or Eddy must go and I'd package Crawford with one of those two, not Lee. Lee by the way can't expect a max contract. If The Don and MD are considering moving Lee as part of housecleaning, that's a shame.Build this team around him, Chandler and the shotblocker, again, sorry Loki, I like Robin Lopez, later in the draft.I move to the Suns, if they select Gordon or Randolph.

I definitely don't want Gordon and every game I've seen Mayo play he didn't do anything, so what's all the hype on him about. Baylees is too little and he shoots first (Nate will buss him up). TRADE DOWN for more picks and grab McGee and DJ Augustin.

McGee, Jordan and Randolph are too weak, I absolutely agree, trade down and take Robin Lopez, you'll thank me later, enjoy the draft!!
