Ewing "working out" with Knicks
Patrick Ewing Jr. popped his head out of the locker room door at the Knicks' practice facility Saturday in full view of reporters, one of whom asked, "What up, Junior?"
Or at least something to that effect.
"Oh, just working out," he said, dressed from head to toe in team blue practice gear.
Uh-huh.
We call it getting ready to re-up with the team that cut him last month once it does something with Stephon Marbury or someone else.
Junior (who also attended Friday's game against Oke City to visit old Georgetown teammate Jeff Green) said he hasn't made any commitment to play elsewhere, either overseas or in the Developmental League. And either he hasn't gotten an offer from another NBA team (which he'd be foolish to forego) or he's gotten a promise from the Knicks.
We're going with the promise.
So be patient, those of you who'd also like the Knicks to sign Anthony Mason Jr. and the progeny of all the old Knicks, as if that's going to restore past glories.
Junior could be back, and soon.
Depending on how anxious Steph is to actually play again.
***
In that regard, we reiterate a point made here and elsewhere in the past.
We suspect that at some point in his basketball career (although we Googled it and can't quite find anything definitive), Steph has said he'd play basketball for nothing. We have heard him say on countless occasions that all he wants to do is play because he loves the game.
Yet, instead of taking less than the $21.9 million he said he's already "earned" to play elsewhere, he's playing hardball.
Except, the Knicks hold the hole card. They can sit him until he rots _ which for a player who turns 32 in February, isn't exactly a good thing.
So we're still waiting to see how much he loves the game more the money he's adamant about making/keeping.
Adamek - you tell me how many teams, coaches, non-starters Steph has had to put up with as he has put out passion, energy, intelligence on the court. Houston- oops - his knees went. etc, etc, etc!!! really steve, you know better than to write this trash.

Jason,
The only Passion or energy that Stephon has ever put out on a court, was a passion/energy for sucking the life out of his coaches and teammates!
