It's done

Do we need to say more?

Well, we will in a bit, but the Mets have completed the negotiations with Johan Santana now only a physical stands in the way of the lefthander taking the mound for the Mets on opening day.

The Mets had a choice for what to do with all that money...

Buy Costa Rica

They made the right choice.

I don't know. Costa Rica has very nice climate - and never gets a sore elbow.

But it's hard to argue with this - if you're going to wildly overpay for a player, make it the best pitcher in the game and one who has been sturdy for his entire career.
