There is sunshine and two games on the schedule.
Ernie Banks would have loved it.
Anyone else? The Mets in particular? We'll see.
You'd think all would be sunshine in the clubhouse after the two-game sweep of the Yankees had the Mets talking about turning points. But there is still an undercurrent that has some on edge - Willie Randolph anyone?
The Record's Ian O'Connor wrote in Monday's paper that Randolph is feeling the heat and he might be feeling it more after that column made it's way to the desks of the Wilpons, who weren't happy to hear race or biased SNY coverage trickle into the pages.
The two wins over the Yankees eased the pressure for a day on Randolph, but those assertions, coupled with a few losses in Atlanta certainly wouldn't help his cause. Maybe a team meeting will ease the troubles again, but this seems a little hard to smooth over than a Billy Wagner rant.
Blaming the media and playing the race card advances the Willie doomsday clock a good 15 minutes!

I think you may be right. We'll have more on this in a bit - but he didn't sound very convincing in his arguments this morning.

It does seem as if the guy who was brought in, at least in part, because he was a NY guy and could handle NY, is going Ed Whitson on us.
