Never thought I'd need to post the lineup, but here you go...The tarp is off, the bagpipes have sounded on Irish night and Gary Sheffield is back in the lineup. So what's the odds on Sheff pulling his hamstring out in soggy leftfield? Billy Wagner said he won't be pitching back-to-back games anytime soon - and he acknowledged he probably won't pitching for the Mets with this representing, "My best chance for a World Series," as he has been claimed on waivers by the Red Sox. The teams have until Tuesday to work out a deal.
Pagan CF
Castillo 2B
Sheffield LF
Francoeur RF
Tatis 3B
Murphy 1B
Santos C
A. Hernandez SS
Pelfrey P
By the way, still just habit to use the "A" before Hernandez. I guess I don't have to do that anymore now that Livan Hernandez is not on the roster.
Gary Sheffield and his hamstring will be fine. Where has Jose Reyes been all year with his sore hamstring. Sitting around at home I guess doing nothing.

Speaking of which, Jerry Manuel said today what we all know - he assumes Reyes won't play again this year.

With the way Billy Wagner pitched last night I don't want the Mets to get rid of him. The Mets have no pitching and it was sure nice watching him come in throw stikes and get the inning over quick. I don't care about the money situation and all that. Keep him, don't trade him. I'm tired of watching all the Mets awful pitching.
