MEDICAL UPDATE ON JOHAN SANTANA FLUSHING, N.Y., August 25, 2009 – Mets pitcher Johan Santana today was examined by Mets Medical Director Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Santana will undergo minor arthroscopic surgery to clean up bone chips in his left elbow and is out for the remainder of the season. He is expected to fully recover and be ready for Spring Training.

Thankfully, Johan will be ready to go in Spring 2010. The question is who is to blame for pitching Johan in meaningless games when he was hurt?
