Very nice! These moments are hard to see and even harder to capture...

One time I saw a group of crows chasing a great horned owl and nipping at its butt feathers as the owl flew away. I figured maybe the owl was trying to steal the crows' eggs.

Holy smokes! I saw the picture in the paper, but admittedly, (and perhaps it is because as a graphic designer I work with Photoshop) I thought the mockingbird was "retouched" closer to the hawk. Well, I was way wrong and I have to say those are some WAY COOL photos.

FYI: I have a new hawk couple in the neighborhood - I think they are sharp shinned.

AceACE is a screech owl who has been living in a nesting box just beyond Wright’s backyard since mid-November. Last spring, Ace and his mate had four owlets successfully fledge from the box.

THE SCREECH CAM is an infrared video camera that provides an amazing window into what's happening inside the nesting box. Wright has also a video-cam for his wood-duck box.

THE CELERY FARM is a 109-acre nature refuge in Allendale. It is owned by the borough of Allendale and maintained by Fyke Nature Association volunteers. It is open daily from dawn to dusk.
