Somehow, you just knew that keeping the focus on actual hockey wasn't going to last very long in this series. A couple of interesting tidbits this morning at the Verizon Center as the Rangers conducted an optional morning skate that consisted of Artem Anisimov, Colton Orr, Fredrik Sjostrom, Aaron Voros and Steve Valiquette.
John Tortorella said the lineup decision would come down to Anisimov or Orr. But, put in in the books, Anisimov will be in the lineup.
Off the ice, the Rangers arrived this morning to find the door from their dressing room to the ice locked so they couldn't take the ice early. Eventually, a building worker found the key and let the Rangers out. It should be noted this took place well before the Rangers' scheduled 11:30 a.m. skate.
Second, general manager Glen Sather was out checking the glass behind the Rangers bench - remember he complained to NHL Commissioner that the protection was insufficient because of gaps. Sather said a few things and shortly afterwards, some building workers could be seen looking at the glass.
More coming.
OMG! Sather is really alive!
