Morning practice has begun here at the MSG Training Center and Sean Avery (sprained right knee) has joined his teammates on ice for the first time since colliding with Ryan Callahan on Sept. 21 during the morning skate. Avery is wearing an orange, non-contact jersey.
Still would have to think Avery's doubtful for Friday's opener at Pittsburgh. At the very least, the Rangers can't make any real statements on Avery's health/status until tomorrow because they need to see how his knee reacts to today's skate.
More soon...

let avery heal ist 3 games or so. its a long season and i'd rather a healthy body be in there. probably would also give a guy like AA a bit more time for a few games.
