The Rangers have, in effect, a split-squad doubleheader with the Devils tomorrow in New Jersey. There's a 7 p.m. game between that day's NHL rosters while, at 1 p.m., Hartford (AHL) will face Lowell. There is no admission for the afternoon game.
Coach John Tortorella said repeatedly today he wants to take a good, long look at the 10 or so players he considers on the bubble of making the Rangers. So defensemen Michael Del Zotto, and Matt Gilroy, along with forwards P.A. Parenteau, Enver Lisin, Evgeny Grachev, Brian Boyle and Matt Maccarone will all play again tomorrow after dressing for the Rangers' 2-1 loss to the Bruins at the Garden tonight.
On Thursday, after tomorrow's games, Tortorella will pare his current 54-player roster down to about 30 for Friday's game at Detroit and Saturday's contest in Boston.

So where has Bobby Sanguinetti been so far? Last year it seems he was the up-and-coming guy. Now I hear nothing about him. Anyone have any incite that I'm missing?

Jeff,
My take is that they might be being a little cautious with Sanguinetti after he struggled through the skates this weekend. His legs might still be a little sore. I will definitely ask tomorrow and post as soon as I know.

I thought Heikkinen would get a better look than bottom pair d-man for the afternoon game tomorrow.

WTF? Why are some players that played today are playing tomorrow? and Parenteau of all people? He simply is not NHL material.

I'm really intrigued by the Grachev-Boyle-Kotalik line. There's a good mix of size, snipe, and speed. Should be very interesting.

Andrew, do you get the feeling from Torts interviews yesterday and today, and even last week, that he really enjoys this time of the year, shaping the team at virtually his own discretion, while getting a better understanding of the talent available in Hartford? Listening to him now as opposed to last year, and even during the summer, is a complete 180, and I love his passion for this team right now.
