SBI Fantasy Rankings (Week eight)

Sorry for the delay in getting this up but it got lost in the holiday weekend/Q&A mix.

Congrats to Mike Sansone, who is representing the SBI League well by holding first place overall in the entire Fantasy MLS competition. That is seriously impressive. Props to Hudson FC for moving into second place in the league and seventh overall, helping us state our case for having the toughest league in the entire set-up.

Here is the Top 10 after last week's games:

SBI Fantasy League Top 10

  1. Taurine Machine..................2330
  2. Hudson FC ........................2210
  3. Hub Tiger FC .....................2156
  4. Stillitanos Ghost .................2143
  5. Dover FC  .........................2134
  6. 718 Juniors .......................2112
  7. Mathis' Magic Hat ................2092
  8. Mississippi Freedom Summe ....2063
  9. Tang Naranja .....................2023
  10. Nrenegar ..........................2017

For those of you wondering, I rebounded nicely and moved up to 22nd place, two spots ahead of Potezny Hillsborough, which finally dropped out of the top 10 after a strong start to the season.

If you're wondering who the top teams in the league are starting, here are their lineups:

Taurine Machine- Andy Gruenebaum, Avery John, James Riley, Michael Harrington, Chris Pozniak, Juan Carlos Toja, Clint Mathis, Carlos Marinelli, Juan Pablo Angel, Jeff Cunningham, Taylor Twellman

Hudson FC- Bouna Coundoul, James Riley, Eddie Robinson, Kevin Harmes, Michael Harrington, Juan Carlos Toja, Jeff Larentowicz, Justin Mapp, Juan Pablo Angel, Eddie Johnson, Taylor Twellman

And for those of you wondering, here's my starting 11:

Atletico SBI- Dario Sala, James Riley, Chris Gbandi, Kevin Harmes, Michael Harrington, Terry Cooke, Shalrie Joseph, Dave Van Den Bergh, Juan Pablo Angel, Eddie Johnson, Roberto Brown

I think Sala and Brown will wind up being regrets but I feel good about the team having another solid week.

Good luck to all of you and here's to the league continuing to put up big numbers.

I went into last week in 3rd overall and second in SBI. Had a bad week and now am in 24th overall and 3rd in SBI---OUCH.. Ives, I also have Gbandi and I hear he is not playing for Dallas this weekend . He is playing for Liberia, I bet alot of owners have him and also were not aware of that. Props to Taurine, and Cunningham as captain?? Bold move taurine... Go hub tiger fc!!!

I'm hoping to bounce back from 3 sub-par weeks with the following line-up:

Gruenebaum, Parkhurst, Segares, Yi, Goodson, Mathis, van den bergh, Fred, Twellman, H.Gomez

HEY! you only have 3 mids.. Not a good way to bounce back (just kidding)

Congrats to Taurine Machine!

Ives, 22nd . . . hmmmm.

And Angel!!!!!!!! Can't forget the savior from heaven. He's my captain.

Really dumb question, but one I have to ask to survive in fantasy soccer. How do you change formations? I'm stuck in 4-4-2. Thanks for any help you guys can give and a big middle finger to anyone who rips me. :)

its only 4-4-2 man.

I was 3rd place in SBI! Now I drop to 7. Here is my lineup this week:

----------B.Ching--------------Twellman ©------------

B.Davis--------Angel-----------Mathis-----------Shalrie J.

J.Riley--------D.Gargas------N.Sturgis------------M.Harrington

------------------------Andy G.-------------------------

I am taking major chances this week, such as a rebound in Houstons fortunes . . . . but if I am going to advance, chances must be taken!

ONLY 2 RED BULLS???????? Blasphemy!!!
;-D

Okay, so I dropped a place to 8th. I expected to crash and burn so I'm actually pretty happy. Thank god Angel had a great game and both Twellman and Ralston put the ball in the net. On the other hand I had three players with negative points. Ouch.

I'm already behind this week because I put Harmse in the lineup and apparently he's already on his way to Canada's Gold Cup camp. Oops. Nice research there Nathan.

I've decided to go with a front-loaded team, with all my money invested in offense. Here's how it looks:

Gruenenbaum
Riley - Harmse - Harrington - Boyens
Ralston - Mathis - Angel (C) - Schelotto
Altidore - Twellman

3 Revs because they are home to RSL. 3 Bulls because they are generating steady offense with minor exceptions and the Wizards did let in 3 last week. The rest are gambles chosen largely for value (read cheapness) and potential (read Schelotto).

Taurine's choice of Cunningham as captain is bold. I like it. I will especially like it if he doesn't score, but I like the willingness to bank on inspiration.

Go Mississippi Freedom Summe(r)!

Oh and relating to the strength of the SBI League, we now have 12 of the top 100 players in the game. We are more than 10% of the best fantasy players in the entire game. That's gotta be worth something.

Like a cup of coffee if accompanied with $2.

Oh and I wanted to give props to SilitanosGhost who had one of the best weeks of any team in the game last week (or two weeks ago, actually). I was catching the FSC broadcast of Chivas and Dallas and they did a small feature on the game and gave some prize to the best team of the week and then listed the top 10 teams of the week and there was StilitanosGhost right up there on screen.

I was all like "Hey! I know him. Sort of. We're in the same league! He's kicking my butt!"

Anyway congrats on 15 seconds of fame. They should show the league affiliations for each of the weekly top 10 teams. That would be hott (in honor of Paris Hilton in the run-up before she goes behind bars).
