Here is this week's MLS rankings. No change at the top but there's one team rising quickly (DC) and one falling fast (Columubs):
- New England Revolution (5-1-2)- The Revs D shows it can win games too.
- New York Red Bull (4-1-2)- Juan Pablo Angel has officially arrived.
- FC Dallas (5-3-1)- Dario Sala is back, and so is the FCD attack.
- Kansas City Wizards (4-2-1)- Two games without a win and now the Wizards go to New England.
- Colorado Rapids (3-2-3)- Haven't won a game at Dick's Sporting Goods Park since season opener.
- DC United (2-3-1)- Look whose slowly climbing up the ladder.
- Chicago Fire (3-3-1)- No Rolfe, no chance for a win.
- Los Angeles Galaxy (1-2-2)- Landon Donovan owns Chivas USA, plain and simple.
- Chivas USA (2-3-2)- Four straight matches without a win. Maybe they should kiss and make up with Amado Guevara.
- Houston (2-4-1)- This isn't a Champions Cup hangover. There's something wrong with the champs.
- Toronto FC (2-5)- The newcomers are playing well and deserved at least a tie vs. DC United
- Columbus Crew (1-2-4)- Overachievers are starting to face the reality of their mediocre roster
- Real Salt Lake (0-3-4)- We're learning quickly that it wasn't all John Ellinger's fault.
For some strange reason, I thought Columbus was going to be a big upgrade this season. I suppose they shouldn't be counted out yet, haven't lost as much as some other teams buuut...they certainly haven't done much winning either.
Pick it up, Schelotto.

Ives,
What has happened to Houston?

It's going to take more than a new coach to turn things around at RSL. But I don't feel comfortable not placing the blame on Ellinger without knowing who else had a part in making player selections. At this point Kries has to make due with building a team from the leftover parts he has at hand.
Oh, I see. Ya, Checketts, Howes & the rest of the RSL FO are to blame for not making this change in the summer when Kries could've molded the team to fit his vision and address weaknesses rather than letting Ellinger further muck things up.
Will RSL get a win before the all-star break?

It wasn't all Ellinger's fault, but the blame starts with him and moves up, not down.

Kinney,
it sure has looked like the RSL players, at least some of them, should get some of the blame. In several games so far this season, they seem to have given up. Things have looked better under coach Kreis, but they're not out of the woods yet.

Ives,
Goff is passing on a rumor of Esky to RSL and Cunningham to LA.
Are you hearing anything?

Hey, any word on the health of Waterrus?? Is Conway set to make another start this Thursday night? Would love to know. Thanks.

Goff just reported that Esky to RSL is real and just happened.
Note to TFC players: you should probably just check-in to an Extended Stay motel until after the all-star break...

Wow...Can't say I agree with bumping DC up to 6th. They were handed a win with a very sketchy PK and an own goal. Toronto deserved the win. They don't move up at all in my book.

Cunningham for Esky & 2008 1st round pick is indeed real. The local (Salt Lake) papers already have articles up online.

BINGO on the comment by Chris!! United were totally outplayed by TFC and Ives I am really surprised you moved them up at all. Toronto was whooping their butt then an own goal goes in. The penalty was totally blown by the referee. Sad part besides everything else is that he is one of the full time 'pro' refereees now appointed by MLS. What a waste! Emilio flopped just how he did in Columbus a few weeks ago. Difference there was that he was given a yellow by the 'non pro' ref. Only reason United won that match was because the referee made himself a 12th man for them.
