Good morning folks. If you're looking for some early-morning reading here is a link to my Herald News column today. The column is on Saturday's match and why the Red Bulls need to capitalize on the momentum.
For those of you wondering about how the English star is doing over in England, Beckham took part in some light jogging in Monday's practice and looks like a long-shot to play. At this rate I would be surprised if he is more than a late substitute in the England-Germany friendly. Here's a story on yesterday's proceedings from my buddy Sam Wallace at The Independent.
Feel free to share your comments on my column, as well as your random thoughts on Beckham, below.

I agree with you.
I wish the FO would find a way to get even 10% of the 50K additional people back to regular games.
There's gotta be some kind of gimmick that should work in getting them back.
Also, all 66K should be on RBNY's mailing list and should be offered advance season tickets in RB Park in 2009.

I hope Beckham did not set his ankle back further by playing the full 90 against the Red Bulls.

Ives, very serious question for you:
Do you think having such an incredibly high-profile international player in the league will give MLS the kick in the rear they need to avoid scheduling during international breaks starting next year?
While many complain about the summer schedule, that's never been the issue to me. It's how the league simply acts as if international breaks don't exist that is the real core of the issue.
I understand their hands are tied to some degree for the teams that don't own their own venue, but surely they can squeeze in some more midweek games in other parts of the year or something to avoid the silly situation of Beckham trying to play in London on Wednesday and Los Angeles on Thursday.
If you can answer it here or in your next Q&A session or maybe even ask around the league I'd really appreciate it.
I think if it does happen it would be a very smart step towards helping give the league some more credibility world-wide and relieving the USMNT from having to simply not select guys from time to time to avoid disrupting the league.
thanks in advance & keep up the fantastic work!
