Convey Hurt Again

Bobby Convey can't catch a break.

He finally returns from a long injury layoff to score a stunning goal against Liverpool earlier this week but now reports are surfacing that he injured his leg in training and won't play this weekend.

There are no details on the injury yet but it does not appear severe enough to keep him out for an extended period of time. At least you hope so for Convey's sake.

Good!

Blast! I was hoping he was on the road to recovering his form. We could use some competition on the left wing for DMB, and it never hurts to have options.

That's not cool, sprool11.

Here's a link to the Pool-Reading highlights. Nice volley from Bobby.

Yeah I was on Reading's website the other day looking for Coppell's reaction to Convey's play at midweek, and then saw the injury. Shame for Bobby, he played well enough in the Liverpool match to deserve a start in the EPL. He had a second great volley chance shortly after the first, and only a great save kept him from a double.

Dano: There was an article in the local Reading paper this week about Convey wanting to become Reading's right winger since Hunt has established himself as the team's left winger. If Convey can secure the right wing position for Reading, this would great news for the U.S. national team since it would give us some much needed depth. Also, he could finally take over free kick and corner kick duties from Landon.

Dave, which combination of players would you currently like to see in the USMNT midfield and where does Convey fit in?

Freddy made his league debut today against Sporting. Came on in the 82nd minute for Di Maria and looked fairly good given the short amount of time he played.

hey ives, what would be your "oft-injured starting xi" for the premier league?

my team would look like:

gk: kirkland
rb: g.neville
cb: woodgate
cb: gallas
lb: clichy
rm: dyer
cm: hargreaves
cm: dunn
lm: mendieta
f: owen
f: saha

manager: o.solskjaer
