Saturday night, I saw an old friend who told me that he has been reading my blog through all these years in which we have not much been able to see each other. He knew of all my running adventures - from the blizzard before the Nittany Valley Half Marathon two years ago to my Missoula Marathon experience last month.
Of my marathons and miles he said to me, "I don't know how you do it."
The answer is simple. You go outside and put one foot in front of the other. Almost anyone can run, but it takes a special kind of person to raise two young boys in this crazy world (and crazier state), putting their needs ahead of his own and still managing to be the same guy everyone knows and loves.
"I don't know how YOU do it," was my response. I hope he starts his own blog.
