Last Saturday, Husky House volunteers gathered at Amy Hofer's North Haledon home awaiting a shipment of rescued dogs the group pulled from a kill shelter in Georgia as part of Project Hope. The shipment was the result of an email Hofer received earlier in the week with a list dogs scheduled to be gassed. "Between us and another women that I have a contact with down there, we ended up saving all of them," Hofer said. Despite screening all of the dogs for health issues, one group of puppies arrived testing positive for Parvo. An extremely deadly disease for puppies, one of the four puppies died Sunday morning the rest are being treated for the disease.

The Husky House, based in North Jersey, can be found online at www.huskyhouse.org.
