No structural damage
The Giants report PK Lawrence Tynes underwent an arthroscopy Friday morning which revealed no structural damage in his left knee.
He will continue to treat the soreness in his knee through rehabilitation program. This medical report tends to lessen the need for the Giants to bring in an experienced kicker at this point, providing Tynes shows he will be ready for the Sept. 4 regular-season opener against Washington. Josh Huston will handle the kicking Saturday night against the Jets and also could kick in the final exhibition next Thursday against New England as Tynes recovers.
Tynes jammed his plant leg while kicking at the University at Albany, and has been sidelined since.
