The Kansas City Star reported the NFL has admitted the Chiefs FS Jarrad Page should not have been penalized for unnecessary roughness for a hit on the Giants Steve Smith early in the second quarter of last Sunday's game. Page's penalty was followed by a touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Smith that gave the Giants a 14-3 lead.
Another blown call on Sunday night Giants vs. Eagles. 3rd quarter ruled fumble, even reviewed, but the reality is the ground can not cause the fumble, but I guess they were to consumed with all the things going on before the actual fumbled happened when Manning hit the ground and the ball came lose. How much money does the NFL pay for refs and video review, to continue to miss obvious calls. Sorry, not a Giants fans, just a Raider fan calling what I see.

Thanks for the e-mail.
The ground CAN cause a fumble if the ball carrier is not touched by a defender when he goes down. Such was the case on this play. Manning clearly went down on his own without contact. The officials got it right this time.
