Ramapo's Golden Girls
It has been my pleasure to cover these girls the last four years....Goldschrafe I wrote about back in the summer when she made her decision. She had a bunch of offers, but just loved West Virginia....and its football program. (I have written it before, but she is a big fball fan....used to be a Rutgers fan, but they let one get away).
Shaw, who burst onto the scene as a sophomore when she took over for Brittany Baiunco in the circle, helping the Green Raiders to the Group 3 final. She had many offers as well, but in talking to her today, she said she wanted to focus on her academics and career first, she wants to study pharmacy, and the University of Sciences in Philly, was a perfect fit. She also said even though they are a Division 2 school, they play all of the D1s in Philly and are competitive.
I heard through the grapevine that Justin Crosgile of DePaul will sign his letter with St. Josephs of Philly at 5 p.m. today. And we are hoping to get pictures of that, and Taylor Wootton from Rutherford, who signed yesterday.
Also, we did leave someone out from the list the other day....Afreyea Tolbert, St. Mary, senior girls basketball signed with Northeastern. Sorry about that. We tried to reach as many coaches and ADs as we could.
Today is perhaps just about the biggest day in the history of North Jersey sports....all the football playoffs, all of the soccer games backlogged from yesterday, just crazy. There will be a lot of shouts of celebration and tears of despair in the next 12 hours or so.
Theres a good reason Chelsea feel in love with WVU, its amazing down here. Although last year she would have been my rival in watching football (ihhs 08) its gunna be good to have her rooting for the mountaineers, o yea nd actually doin gymnastics i guess that could be good too.
