While the Yankees wait to bid on CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira and A.J. Burnett in the free agent market - which would begin on Nov. 11 if the World Series ends tonight - we can start our own auction. Of Yankees stuff.
During the year, the Yankees had a number of giveaway items, which they would also hand out in the press box. So, if you missed your chance to get a Con Edison/Yankee pen light, or something like that, you're in luck.
First item up for bids - a commemorative Yankee Stadium "pennant-shaped'' magnet, with the 1923-2008 Stadium logo. And here's all you have to do to get it: Name the ONE free agent you want the Yankees to sign MOST this winter, and why - in one or two sentences.
Best answer wins. We'll end the contest on Saturday, at 5 p.m., and announce the winner on Monday.
