26 days until pitchers and catchers report to Tampa, and the start of Mission 27, Part IX. The Diamondbacks, Angels, Marlins, Red Sox (twice), White Sox, Cardinals and Phillies have all won it all since the Yanks became stuck on today's number. But according to Las Vegas...
The Yankees will win the 2009 World Series, so say the oddsmakers. In Vegas, wagering on baseball futures is no way to bet. But it's always interesting to follow trends, and the Yankees have shot up the charts since their third-place finish.
When we arrived in Las Vegas for the winter meetings, the Yankees - who opened at the Bellagio at 8-1 to win the '09 World Series - were at 6-1. And then they started writing checks.
After CC Sabathia signed, the Yankees went to 9-2, with only the Cubs and Red Sox at lower odds. After A.J. Burnett signed, the Yankees moved to 7-2. And after Mark Teixeira signed, the Yankees took over the top spot, at 5-2 to win the World Series.
So, since late October, the Yankees have passed the Red Sox, Cubs, Angels and Dodgers up the odds board in Las Vegas. In the desert, the Yanks' $423.5 million new investment has masked Posada's shoulder rehab, the back-of-the-rotation questions, and the hole in center field.
Plus, the Rays and Sox are still pretty good at last check. If you're in Vegas, wager at your own risk.
lets all remember Pete Rose... funny story i have a signed baseball from pete rose that says, "I'm Sorry I Bet On Baseball, Pete Rose" pretty funny, its on my wall next to my Yogi Berra 16x20 of the famous play against the dodgers with Jackie Robinson where Jackie was called safe, and Yogi to this day still says he was out... and he signed the picture as such... "He was OUT- Yogi Berra"

If Rose had let those words come out of his mouth 20 years ago instead of writing them on a baseball -what, five years ago now? - he'd be in the HOF today.
Yeah, Yogi will tell you today that Jackie was out. The ball sure beat him home, but that tag might have been high...

CLemens really disappoints me. All we ever heard for YEARS was how he was a fitness freak and how hard he worked out EVERYDAY to keep what he had, and to be exposed like this was just aweful. You can't be a fitness freak AND take steroids bottomline. I know alot of "professional" wrestlers and most of them were juicers, and alot of them have health problems, and not just little stuff but BIG stuff, because of the juice. If you workout to take care of your body why ruin it all by juicing?
