RU's Jackson, UVA's Landesberg on Display at Big Apple

CurryFans of area hoops, especially those interested in the future of Rutgers, Virginia, West Virginia and Florida, should get to Baruch College this weekend to check out Big Apple Basketball Challenge

This great event is run by our man Jason Curry (left) and features eight of the top New York City public schools against eight of their Catholic school brethren. On display with be Virginia-bound SG Sylven Landesberg of Holy Cross (Queens); Rutgers-bound SG Patrick Jackson of Brooklyn Boys & Girls; Florida signee Erving Walker of Christ the King (Queens); and the St. Raymond's crew that includes West Virginia commit Darryl "Truck" Bryant and his talented teammates Omari Lawrence and Kevin Parrom, who are being recruited by area schools Rutgers, Seton Hall and St. John's among others.

The Catholics won eight of nine games last year, with Boys & Girls the lone public winner over Molloy. Lincoln and Lance Stephenson lost to Christ the King.

We definitely recommend checking out Tom McDonald's interview with Curry that recently aired on NY1.
