Ebanks Still to Visit Memphis

WellEbanks_indiana, the one thing we know for sure is that Devin Ebanks did not suddenly end his recruitment by committing to Rutgers during his visit this weekend that included a pickup game with recruits at The Barn.

I spoke to Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier-Journal and he mistakenly wrote on his blog that Ebanks had COMMITTED to Rutgers. He meant to say that Ebanks is EXPECTED TO COMMIT, according to a source at Memphis.

Lawrence McGugins, Ebanks' AAU coach, said in an email that nothing had changed and that the 6-foot-9 Ebanks still planned to make his fourth and final visit to Memphis next weekend.

He has already seen West Virginia and Texas after asking for his release from Indiana.

Ebanks, the No. 13 overall recruit in the Class of 2008, previously said Tyreke Evans has been text-messaging him in an effort to get him to follow him to Memphis.

"It's a good situation for him, but if I go down there and see if it's a good situation for me, then we'll definitely be teammates," Ebanks said at the Jordan Brand Classic in New York.

Ebanks said the departure of Memphis assistant Chucky Martin to become the head coach at Marist would not impact his decision.

"Chucky had to do what he had to do," Ebanks said. "Eventually every assistant wants to be a head coach so I understand his move."

Ebanks will graduate from St. Thomas More (Conn.) on May 17 and said he plans to announce sometime after that.

Ya gotta love recruiting, eh AZ? First a UK fan from the shore posts that he verballed over the weekend, citing a RU staff member on Rivals. Then the story from Memphis was linked...with the updated correction. This is fun, huh?
Then, the UK fan states that the "guy" who said LT to RU is a joke, as he was always Duke. We know who that "guy" is, don't we. And, btw that guy was RIGHT about LT right up to the last half hour.
So, a UK fan living on the Jersey Shore is getting phone calls late at night from staff at RU?
BWWWWAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAA
I mean, you can NOT make this stuff up.....

ps
I surely do hope he commits to Rutgers though. And, we do have a great shot, as we did before with DE. Perhaps a whole lot better now though, with MR and GE also aboard.

Just to be clear Adam, is Jody Demling of the Louisville Courier-Journal meaning to say that Ebanks is EXPECTED TO COMMIT TO RU (according to a source at Memphis)? Hope this request doesn't seem picayune, but dopes like DRE get confused with even your most straightforward writing, so it would be helpful to clarify here. Thanks.
