The Nets play their final home game before the All-Star break tonight and may be without Richard Jefferson.
The small forward did not attend the morning shoot due to a stomach virus. They’re listing him as a game-time decision.
My guess is he will play because he has said appearing in all 82 was important to him, especially after all that happened last season and a few years back.
Plus, Jefferson played last week after taking a vicious elbow to the face from Lamar Odom that knocked him silly and left him dizzy and woozy. He had a severe headache and trouble seeing and yet he didn’t miss any time.
In any event, you could say the Nets have to worry about two Jeffersons tonight. The big one, though, is Al Jefferson.
He is a very good player, but against the Nets’ he’s great. You all remember the 40 and 19 he put on the Nets in their loss in Minnesota last month and all he did last season as a member of the Celtics.
The Nets need to do a better job on him, obviously.
As a side note, the Nets had a chance to trade Richard for Al and Theo Ratliff back in Oct. 2006. I would have done that. Who knows what would have happened had the Nets done that. Maybe the Nets would have been in a better position to get Kevin Garnett?
The Nets did offer a Jefferson, but it proved to be the wrong Jefferson. Then again, it certainly seems Kevin McHale wanted to help his former team and old friend Danny Ainge.
In case you need a reminder, nine days until the trading deadline.
Uhhhh no please please play RJ.... Im beggin ya.
Anyway I dont see Al putting 40 on us because Nenad will be giving him much more trouble than Sean and Josh.

It doesn't matter what Al does, he has been destroying is for the past two and a half seasons, its all about Vince and Kidd clocking in and not taking a nap on the court.

Give Big Al his 30 and 10, just don't let anyone else beat you.
Kidd and VC hold the key. Play today, win today. Distracted today, beg your teammates to win today.
