Kiki's a Keeper

The Nets are set to announce that Kiki Vandeweghe has a new contract and a new title, which should come as no surprise.

The organization likes Vandeweghe and the work he's done since replacing popular Ed Stefanski when he left to become the president of the Philadelphia 76ers.

As Rod Thorn's special assistant, Vandeweghe helped do the leg work on the Jason Kidd-to-Dallas trade. Vandeweghe also has been scouting players for the draft and just returned from the European championships.

Vandeweghe's original contract ran through the end of June, but Thorn said all along that he expected to him around longer. Now he will. Vandeweghe returned from Europe and signed his new deal.

More to come.

Good decision, and good timing - locking him Kiki well ahead of the draft and free agent period. Need a stable front office in place before the big off-season push.

Great move. I have confidence in Kiki. Just dont draft the next Tskitishville!

Great Move!!! Thanks KiKi for the Dallas Trade, Great Job!!! Good Luck

Solid signing Thorn, now step out of the way and let Kiki hand Frank his walking papers!!!!!!!!

We now have given Kiki the job he deserves. While we're at it, give LFrank that too--locker room attendant.

Kiki, we need someone to develop our big men, Cartwrighjt is not getting that done. I saw the story about Kermit Washimgton. He has worked for Kiki in Denver. This brother has suffered enough and is doing some really positvive things in Africa. Give the brother a shot at our summer camp to see what he can do with our bigs. He deserves another shot. If Kobe can be forgiven for his "incident" why can't this guy get another chance? Make the call Kiki.
