The Finale and the Roster

The Nets didn't shoot his morning. They're having something at their practice facility later this afternoon before taking the bus to the Garden for the final regular season game.

Don't know everyone's status yet, but it's likely Ryan Anderson will start in place of Yi Jianlian, who's sitting due to a sore right foot. Devin Harris (strained right ankle) likely will play and Jarvis Hayes is expected to make his Nets' debut. We'll know more about Keyon Dooling later. Josh Boone, Eduardo Najera and Stromile Swift are out.

Lawrence Frank will try and play as much a regular rotation as possible but without Boone and Najera and perhaps Dooling it will be hard. Barring the unforeseen, all three will be available opening night. But I think it's pretty fair to assume that Anderson is going to be a part of the rotation.

As for the roster, some of you wanted either Julius Hodge or Eddie Gill to stick. If they did, they were going to be 14th or 15th men, inactive just about every game unless someone got hurt.

In this economy and especially the Nets, you can't waive Maurice Ager or Trenton Hassell and eat their contracts. Hassell  has two years left, and could be a valuable defensive stopper in some games. He would get more minutes than either Gill or Hodge.

They tried to make moves to clear space and not necessarily for Gill or Hodge. Some teams like to have an extra spot if something comes up.

I really hope Najara will get healthy before season starts.
The D was terrible and he can definately help us in that area.
