Team president Rod Thorn has made up his mind and as expected has decided Lawrence Frank will remain the Nets' head coach.
Thorn held a conference call with reporters today, one week after he said: "I just want to be sure in my mind." Apparently, Thorn is.
"Lawrence will be coming back as the coach," Thorn said. "We're very happy to have him and as far as I'm concerned we're very lucky to have him. I think he's a very good coach and I think he'll do a terrific job for us."
Last week, Thorn seemed to have some doubt about whether the players still were listening to Frank. Apparently, he doesn't anymore.
More later.
Another wasted year.. Great!

"Frank Stays" ... great news!!!
The nets will continue to suck.
Izod attendance will continue to plummet.
The nets will continue to miss the playoffs.
Ratner will continue to hemmorage red ink, forcing him to sell the team to vanderbeek's investment group, who will put the nets in newark's pru center where they belong.
Yep, frank staying is great news!!! Let the losses mount and let the red ink flow!!!

Thorn is letting Frank swing in the wind as a lame duck coach. Maybe Thorn is trying to figure out who he should pick as Frank's successor.

With the team likely to be put up for sale in the very near future, ratner doesn't want to commit to any new front-office and coaching contracts.
That's why thorn, kiki and frank are all entering the final season of their deals.
The new nets' ownership group will be able to pick their own basketball staff at their own price, without having to eat any of ratner's old contracts.
At least ratner knows how to do one thing right: clear the decks for a sale.
