You know who the Nets are not getting, unless they somehow trade up. So it's time for them to start looking at who they might get in next month's draft if they stay at 11.
They actually already began that exercise and have been talking about players and watching videos of them for sometime. Rod Thorn said yesterday if the draft was next week the Nets' decision makers have "done enough due diligence so far that we could hopefully make a good pick."

Rod Thorn joked on the eve of the Lottery that he's a naturally lucky guy and that he didn't need a rabbit's foot or anything else. Luck, however, did not shine down on Thorn or the Nets tonight.
They will pick 11th in next month's draft, unless they make a trade up, down or out.
You can't rule out any of those things, not this summer.

What a game between the Bulls and Celtics last night. Tell the truth, how many of you didn't immediately think of the Nets-Pistons' triple-overtime slugfest in 2004?
I couldn't help but think about it and every time I saw Brian Scalabrine do something for Boston it made me think of that Nets' series even more.
That was the game when Scalabrine arrived as he helped the two-time defending East champion Nets to the win and a 3-2 series lead in the conference semis. It also was the game that led to Jason Kidd's ineffective play the rest of the series. His knee was shot already and having to play all those extra minutes resulted in the forgettable 0-fer in Game 7 in Detroit.
